Bank Holiday Family Ireland Walking Festival Walks

Féile Beag, a four-day family festival will take place again this year on the May Bank Holiday Weekend in Drimoleague.

There will be a variety of activities on offer, including, William’s Fun Fair, Vintage Car Show, Walking Programme, 5k Fun Run/Walk, Novelty Aussie Rules Football Game, Duck Race, Children’s Arts & Craft Exhibition, old-time games, live music, a BBQ, and much more. The Opening Parade will begin at 8.15pm, on Friday 2nd May, and will include music, fancy dress competitions, vintage cars and special guests, Alice in Wonderland and friends!

The Walking Programme, hosted by Drimoleague Heritage Walkways, is an integral part of the festival and this year there will be four guided walks to enjoy.

All walks are free and will be guided. For more details, please contact the guide leading the walk on the day.

Saturday 3rd May

5:30am: The Dawn Chorus Walk
Assemble at the Top of the Rock, (teas served afterwards in The Pod Páirc at 7am.)
Distance: 2km
Difficulty: Easy/Moderate

10:00am – Mullaghmesha Hill Walk
Assemble at Castledonovan Car Park.
Distance: 5km

10:30am: Hill Walk from Castledonovan to Lough Bofinna.
Assemble at Castledonovan Carpark (there will be a return bus transfer if required).
Distance: 7km
Difficulty: Moderate

10:00am: Hill Walk to Nowen Hill,
Assemble at Cullinagh, Dunmanway. Signposted from Castledonovan Creamery.
Duration: 8km
