West Cork-based artist Pauline Agnew has teamed up with Sophie Shelswell-White of Bantry House to host a week of international mixed-media art workshops called ” A Space for Dreaming” this September
Over the past two years, Pauline, a graduate of the NCAD and DIT, has combined her background in art and technology, to create ground-breaking art e-courses which receive rave reviews internationally.
Offline art gatherings were a natural spin-off from Pauline’s innovative online activities, and an art event she organised in California last year in collaboration with San Francisco-based artist Melinda Cootsona quickly sold out. Another is in the pipeline for Mexico next February: “So many people, especially women, really want to carve out some creative space in their lives and meet kindred spirits”, says Pauline.
Pauline is bringing 60 people to Ireland from three continents for an action-packed week of art making and fun in West Cork, and her first choice of venue was Bantry House. The East Stables of the house are spacious and perfect for artists’ workshops, and Bantry House and Gardens provide a truly inspirational setting.
The response to this event on social media has been terrific, and places are filling up quickly.
Pauline and Sophie, are keen to develop this art gathering into a yearly offering that will become a regular and exciting date in any art lover’s diary.
