Ireland
The St Finbarr’s Community Walk from Drimoleague gives you a wonderful chance to walk one of Ireland’s pilgrim trails
The annual St Finbarr’s Community Walk from the Top of the Rock, Drimoleague to Gougane Barra will take place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August 2016.
The guided walk will lead you “up and over” three mountain systems and four valleys, namely the Ilen, Mealagh, Ouvane and Lee valley basins. There are spectacular views over Bantry Bay and stretches of the West Cork coastline.
A rich archaeological landscape is combined with interesting folklore. The characters one might meet along the way help to make this a memorable and powerful experience.
Bus Transfers
A number of bus services are available to cater for walkers needing to return to their cars on Saturday and Sunday after the St. Finbarr’s Way community walk.
There will be a bus running from:
Kealkill to Drimoleague at the end of Saturday’s walk (€10)
Drimoleague to Kealkill for the start of Sunday’s walk (€10)
Gougane Barra to Kealkill and Drimoleague at the end of Sunday’s walk (€12).
