Bantry Christmas Walks What's On

Walk off your Christmas feasting for Charity!

Join local guides for a charity walk on St. Stephen’s Day with ALL proceeds going to Cancer Connect, Cork Arc, and Bantry Hospice. All walks begin at the Tourist Office where donations will be taken. From there you’ll either begin your walk or be bused to the start. Stories and history will be woven in as you explore 3 unique spots!

Walk A

Distance: 5km
Approximately: 2 hours
Route: Tourist Office to Bantry House Grounds. Suitable for families with nice, smooth tracks and easy walking.

Walk B

Distance: 5km
Approximately: 2hrs
Route: Catch a bus at the Bantry tourist office to Booltenagh and walk the ridge down towards Bantry. Great views of Bantry Bay and Whiddy Island here.

Walk C

Distance: 10km
Approximately: 3hrs
Route: Catch a bus at the Bantry tourist office to Booltenagh and walk a longer version of the ridge down towards Bantry. Great views of Bantry Bay and Whiddy Island here.

Details

Make sure to wear boots for walks B & C as the mountain brings rough terrain. And of course, bring your rain jackets, just in case.

While there is no charge for participation, donations will be gratefully accepted. All walks will raise funds for three great West Cork charities: Cancer Connect, Cork Arc, and Bantry Hospice.
