Walk and Gluten-Free Craft Beer Tasting On Whiddy Island!

Make the short ferry journey from Bantry Pier to Whiddy Island for a guided tour of the hidden secrets and history of this fascinating island. Tim O Leary, resident islander and font of local knowledge, will be your guide. Return to the Bank House pub where Gordon Lucey, brewer at 9 White Deer, will give a gluten-free craft beer tasting. Joined by Liquid Curiosity’s Jaq Stedman, they will introduce your taste buds to the wonderful avours of (and the history behind) the new gluten-free beverages being created by small and innovative breweries in rural Ireland. This tasting will be complimented by a plate of delicious, locally made, gluten-free food!

Booking is essential as places are limited! This event is part of the ‘A Taste of West Cork’ Food Festival.

More about 9 White Deer

9 Deer re-wrote the rule book with their gluten-free range of beers. They are made from 100% barley and the gluten is removed through clever brewing techniques. And they are first brewery in Ireland to do so!
