Become a Whiddy Islander for the weekend as part of the West Cork Islands Festival!

Whiddy Island Ferry

On the 14th and 15th of June. West Cork has 8 islands, and each of them – Sherkin, Garnish, Bere, Dursey, Long, Heir, Cape Clear and Whiddy Island -invite you to become an islander for the weekend.

There will be a guided walk on Saturday and Sunday , which will start with a slide show and talk in the Marquee at the Bank House Restaurant.

The Whiddy Island Ferry will be running both days, so come along and enjoy island life for the weekend. Boats start departing from Bantry pier at 11.30am on both days.

BBQ on both days, with music by ‘Off the Cuff’.

So why not sample a life away from the mainland! Whiddy Island in Bantry Bay, is a perfect place to spend time walking, cycling and exploring. There will be a walk and talk on both days as well as a barbecue and live music on Sunday.
