Take a West Cork sailing tour from the Sheep’s Head peninsula and experience the beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way
It’s one of the best ways to experience the Wild Atlantic Way! On your day sail, you’ll travel with our expert crew on Carbery Sailing’s Hallberg-Rassy luxury yacht.
Departing from Ahakista, we leave Dunmanus Bay and head north across the mouth of Bantry Bay, heading for Piper Sound. We then pass Castletownbere sailing east down Berehaven with the Beara peninsula to port and Bere Island to starboard. The trip offers stunning views across the Mizen and Sheep’s Head peninsulas, as well as a unique way of enjoying views over Beara’s famous Hungry Hill.
A day sailing tour is a wonderful way to experience the seascapes and coastlines that make up Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Sailing on Dunmanus and Bantry Bays, you’ll sense their different characters, and learn the stories of the communities who’ve made their lives here on the edge of Europe.
On this journey, you’ll enjoy the home-made soup and rolls that are served during the cruise but you are welcome to have tea, coffee, and biscuits whenever you wish.
The coast of West Cork is rich in sea life, so expect to encounter local dolphins and other sealife as you take your sailing tour on our luxury Hallberg-Rassy yacht.
Day sailors just need to bring warm clothes, basic waterproofs, flat soft sole shoes/trainers, camera and sun tan cream! Safety gear is supplied.
On your return to land after your West Cork sailing tour, it’s a short stroll from the pier to Arundel’s where a hearty meal will make a great end to your wild Atlantic day!
