Whiddy Island
Co. Cork
Ireland
Get a taste of West Cork on the West Cork islands!
Take the short trip from Bantry town to the unique location of Whiddy Island – sheltered by the beautiful mountains of the Beara peninsula to the north and the Sheep’s Head peninsula to the south – makes this island a haven for wildlife and many species of birds.
We are doing a guided walk on Whiddy this Saturday. The ferry will leave Bantry at 11.30am. The price is €10 which includes ferry and guided walk.
The walk takes about 2.5 hours and is over mixed terrain so good shoes are required.
Why not take the opportunity to learn about the island’s history and take in some of the beautiful sights of Whiddy Island and maybe some refreshments in The Bank House afterwards.
What better way to spend a Bank holiday Saturday!
