Sheep’s Head Walks

April 14, 2014 by Dunmanus

With Sheep’s Head Walks, you’ll be treading in the footsteps of the past…

We’ll be your walking guides as you explore ‘Muintir Bhaire’ or Sheep’s Head, a rugged peninsula located in West Cork on the stunning Atlantic coastline of south-west Ireland.

This wild and ancient place is a land of clans, bards, pagan gods, castles and ancient sacred megalithic monuments. Stories and folklore abound between the borders of mountain and ocean. It’s a land of unspoilt dramatic beauty to captivate and bewitch you.

Come walk with us and let your imagination be your guide as together we explore the rambling paths, weathered stones, and hidden mysteries of the breathtaking Sheep’s Head peninsula.

We’ve chosen a range of guided walks designed to satisfy all walkers. Whether you are interested in local history, folklore, archaeology or simply the beauty of nature, the magic and mystery of the Sheep’s Head peninsula have something to please everyone. Typically the walks follow the waymarked routes, however, on occasion we take a detour to visit places of interest not shown on the guide map…

Our guided walks range from roughly 3 – 4 hours to a full day and we cater for groups of all sizes; from larger parties to individuals or couples. With larger groups there will be two guides for comfort and safety. All walks are priced individually and we offer discounts for groups – please ask us when making your booking. We operate throughout the year, subject to weather conditions and availability.
