Pinewood Cottage

December 28, 2014 by Dunmanus

Pinewood Cottage self-catering Sheep's Head

Pinewood Cottage is a 300-year-old traditional cottage that has been totally refurbished and now serves as a cosy and inviting self-catering home

It is hidden in a quiet area near Bantry, County Cork and sits on its own grounds with a mature garden with a large lawn and beautiful views of Dunmanus Bay.

The cottage’s interior is tastefully decorated and furnished. The kitchen features modern conveniences such as microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a large dining table so guests can enjoy meals with friends and family. Meanwhile the sitting room features a TV and open fire that invites relaxation at the end of a busy day.

There are three bedrooms (one double and two twins), all of which are bright with ample storage. One of the bedrooms is downstairs. The beds come with high quality bed linen free of charge.

West Cork is an ideal destination for nature lovers, with walking on the Sheep’s Head Way, fishing for brown trout at Farranamanagh Lake and water sports along the coast. The cottage is just 1 kilometre from the picturesque village of Kilcrohane, home to a shop, restaurants and quaint old pubs. Visitors can also tour the ring of the Sheep’s Head peninsula, with its spectacular views, and historical and megalithic sites.

There’s also something here for avid golfers, as Bantry hosts an 18-hole golf course.
